This illustration is of a Gilmore Girls reference. The character Lorelai has a monologue about what's going through her brain, and it ends with "Hockey puck, rattlesnake, monkey, monkey, underpants". It made me laugh, so I illustrated it. And put it on a t-shirt.
The local fair committee was looking for a T-shirt design to appeal to a variety of ages, from toddlers to older teens. This design features a few elements from iStock photo (rainbow & ferris wheel), as well as elements I created from scratch. The design is fun, but still subtle enough to appeal to an older demographic than your standard kids' t-shirt.
This was my entry for a CD cover art contest for a joke band, the Super Powered Death Monkeys. I won third place. Free t-shirt, score!
