Shoyu Chicken

ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tbsp grated ginger 
  • ½ tbsp black pepper
  • ½ tbsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 ½ lbs skinless chicken thighs
 

instructions

  1. Whisk all sauce ingredients in a large bowl. Add chicken thighs and toss to coat evenly.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap; marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  3. Remove chicken thighs from marinade and discard remaining marinade.
  4. Grill chicken thighs on a greased preheated grill until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear – about 15 minutes per side or until it reaches 165°f (74°c).
